Hi, I’m Betty Muscott, and I’m the gal behind Real Kids Photography. I’m a digital photography enthusiast with a passion for photographing children.
A Passion For Photography
Over the years I have spent my free time pursuing my passions: photography, flying, sailing and my family. Each of these passions has changed my life in very positive ways, and a few years back I realized that cameras (and photography) seemed to most parents like magic.
So I decided to share my experiences through my website and my blog, devoting my efforts to educate parents about how to photograph children and their family, how to keep those wonderful photographs safe, how to display them properly and how to use them to create wonderful personalized gifts for family, friends and the home.
And So Real Kids Photography Was Born
Some of you who are advanced digital camera users might find some of what is written on this site a little basic, but it’s the parent who is new to using digital cameras that this site is aimed at. In particular my focus is on photographing children, and recording each family’s history.
This website is meant to be a learning environment where I think out loud about what I know and where I share what I’ve learned by showing our photos and answering questions. Also, the information here is free. We do run limited advertising and affiliate programs to help us cover costs and keep expanding (read more about this on our disclosure page) – however there is no cost to our readers.
Why Real Kids Photography?
Because I have been where you are, confused and seeking good, clear and helpful information about how to photograph my children, grandchildren and family. Our goal is to educate, inform and entertain you with useful articles, tips and stories that will help you become a better photographer, and to use your photographs in ways that will enrich your and your family’s lives.
Be sure and take a few moments to look through my portfolio which contains some of the images I have managed to capture over the years. I am sure you will find it interesting and hopefully it will give you some great ideas for your own photographs.
